Mission and Vision

Department Mission: The mission of the ESTU Department of Industrial Design is to educate industrial designers and researchers who possess the competencies required by the 21st century; who are critical thinkers, open to interdisciplinary collaboration, sensitive to social and environmental issues, agile, compatible, flexible, and solution-oriented by placing collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity at the center and educating students in an environment that interacts with sector professionals, alumni, and each other.

Department Vision: To be an industrial design department that contributes through events and activities that bring our students together with the industry in and out of the classroom, and where our graduates manage the entrepreneurship culture in the sector effectively. To be a world-class industrial design department that forms a strong community by maintaining our alumni communication network, encourages our students and alumni to create a worldwide impact and make meaningful changes through our programs and initiatives, and produces graduates who are as socially responsible and environmentally sensitive as they are technically skilled.

Faculty Mission: To create contemporary, futuristic, and sustainable values at national and international levels through education, research, and design-practice activities based on a holistic approach that combines interdisciplinary interaction with technology and emphasizes details.

Faculty Vision: To be a pioneering faculty that develops contemporary and futuristic values for the needs of national and international stakeholders, conducts research with an interdisciplinary interactive education approach, and educates architects and designers with creative and innovative skill competencies.

Institutional Mission: As a research university that makes a difference with a corporate culture focused on achieving together and continuous learning, and leads the way to a sustainable future in the process of global change and transformation; to create value in society through the activities of our employees, students, and alumni in the fields of education and research.
